Ritornerò da te
Parlami di te, come non fossi stato mai lontano
e tornerò da te, con questo cielo in mano!
Ritornerò, ritornerò,
ritornerò da te.
Giovanni Caccamo
To me, bestiaries are to me a rich source of inspiration. Not only are they a feast for the eye, featuring marvelous renderings of beasts from around the world and beyond; they are also full of amazing tales of animals of all kinds. I am intrigued by the anthropocentric, symbolic world they create, which nevertheless is imbued with respect and awe for the forces of nature.
Marginalia of medieval manuscripts are another source of inspiration. The tiny designs draw me in and invite to explore their miniature cosmos full of contradictions.
